1. Introduction

sportwizzard LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the sportwizzard platform ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this policy carefully. Using the Service does not constitute consent to optional analytics. When product analytics is enabled, it starts only after you choose Allow; you can decline or withdraw that choice at any time.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect information through our authentication provider, Clerk. This may include:

  • Email address
  • Name (if provided)
  • Profile picture (if using social login such as Google)
  • Authentication tokens and session data

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including:

  • API requests (endpoint, timestamp, response status) for rate limiting and analytics
  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Referring URL

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

  • Essential cookies — Clerk session cookies required for authentication. These are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled.
  • Optional analytics — Google Analytics starts only after you choose Allow. It receives sanitized page views and selected feature interactions. Simple campaign tags (UTM source, medium, and campaign) may be included to measure how visitors arrive. When you commit a Line Shop search by pressing Enter, selecting a suggestion, or pressing Search, the exact text typed before a suggestion was selected may be sent as the search term. If a suggestion is selected, the selected suggestion and resolved search text may also be sent. A coarse search response-time category may accompany the result outcome; the precise duration is not sent. We check search text for likely personal or sensitive information before sending it. Search text is not collected while analytics consent is off. Returned bet details, search and book URL filters, click identifiers, and other URL query values are excluded. Google Analytics may use its own pseudonymous browser and session identifiers. When persistent User-ID is enabled, consented activity from signed-in sessions may be associated with the same pseudonymous account-derived identifier across visits. The identifier is not your Clerk ID; your Clerk ID, name, and email are not sent to Google Analytics. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement but does not erase data already sent to Google Analytics. Account deletion does not guarantee immediate removal from Google Analytics or standard aggregated reports. Contact us to request a review of available deletion options; we cannot promise immediate removal.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Enforce API rate limits and usage quotas
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions (when applicable)
  • Send important service-related communications (e.g., security alerts, billing notices)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — We share data with trusted third-party services that help us operate the Service:
    • Clerk — authentication and account management
    • Google Analytics — optional product usage analytics, if enabled and you opt in. Google may use its own pseudonymous browser/session identifiers. When persistent User-ID is enabled, consented activity from signed-in sessions may be associated with the same pseudonymous account-derived identifier across visits. The identifier is not your Clerk ID; your Clerk ID, name, and email are not sent. Committed Line Shop search text may be included after checks that drop likely personal or sensitive text. Simple UTM source, medium, and campaign tags may be included for attribution; returned bet details, search and book URL filters, click identifiers, and other URL query values are excluded.
    • Stripe (via Clerk) — payment processing (when billing is active)
  • Legal requirements — We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time.
  • API usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for rate limiting and debugging purposes, then automatically deleted.
  • Analytics data is subject to the retention configuration of the specific Google Analytics property and Google's processing. The current production property is configured for 2 months of event-level data and 14 months of user-level data, with user-data retention reset on new activity; this is not a fixed maximum for users who remain active. Google's retention setting does not remove standard aggregated reports. Withdrawing consent stops future collection but does not erase data already sent to Google Analytics. Account deletion does not guarantee immediate removal of associated data or removal from standard aggregated reports. Contact us to request a review of available deletion options; we cannot promise immediate removal from Google Analytics or aggregated reports.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • All data transmitted to and from the Service is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Authentication credentials are managed by Clerk, which uses industry-standard security practices including hashed passwords and secure session management
  • Database access is restricted to authorized services only
  • API keys are transmitted securely and verified server-side

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

For all users:

  • Access — You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — You can update your account information through your Clerk profile settings.
  • Deletion — You can delete your account through your account settings or by contacting us.

California residents (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
  • Right to delete personal information held by us
  • Right to opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your personal information
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

European residents (GDPR):

  • Right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability
  • Right to restrict or object to processing
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To withdraw analytics consent, choose Privacy choices in the site footer. To request deletion of analytics information associated with your account, or to exercise other rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within 30 days. A request is not confirmation that Google Analytics has deleted data; deletion depends on the configured property, the applicable Google deletion process, and whether data remains individually removable.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, including sportsbook and daily fantasy sports platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by email notification. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
